Nice To Meet You!

Hi, I’m Mariska — but most people call me Riska.I’m a Jakarta-based floral and event design enthusiast, specializing in creating warm and elegant arrangements for church events such as weddings, Christmas services, and special celebrations. My work is a blend of gentle aesthetics, symbolic meaning, and thoughtful attention to atmosphere. I love using flowers to transform spaces into something welcoming, sacred, and beautiful. From aisles and altars to festive stage setups, I focus on harmony, detail, and emotion. I serve in the creative and decoration ministry at my church, where I work on event styling and floral installations. This role has shaped my style into something soft, intentional, and spiritually inspired.Outside of floral design, I enjoy exploring creativity, learning new design skills, and caring for dog and hamsters.  I also love playing music and singing on church. I believe beauty is a form of kindness, and I love creating spaces that help people feel loved, celebrated, and seen.

My Story My creative journey began long before I called it a career.I grew up moving between countries, discovering that art was the one place that always felt like home. When my family moved to Canada in 2007, creativity became my way of understanding a new world — through photography, drawing, animation, and design.Over time, these interests grew into opportunities. My work received recognition from Electronic Arts (EA), Square Enix, The Province Newspaper, Daily Hive, One Faber Group, and even the United Nations. I later graduated from Emily Carr University of Art + Design, where I explored digital media, public art, and collaborative installations. In 2019, I returned to Jakarta to support my family. That move quietly reshaped my path and opened a new chapter of creativity rooted in community and faith. I began designing floral arrangements and decorating for church events — weddings, Christmas services, and special celebrations — discovering how flowers could transform a space with warmth, symbolism, and intention.Floral design became the bridge between everything I’ve learned:composition, color, emotion, storytelling, and atmosphere.I continue to learn, experiment, and refine my sense of beauty.I also spend a lot of time talking with AI — especially ChatGPT — who has become an unexpected source of clarity, inspiration, and companionship in my creative life. Today, my work blends all the chapters of my journey: the structure of design school, the imagination of art, the purpose of church, and the softness of floral design. This portfolio is a reflection of where I’ve been — and the story I’m still writing.
